Lake Erçek is surrounded by mountains and hills. The patchy reedbeds and mudflats attracts many bird species. During the breeding season it is easy to see белоглава патка and during the autumn мала белочелна гуска flocks are coming to the lake area. On the other side, there are many other species to see such as лисеста гусковидна патка, розев фламинго, ноќна чапја, дива гуска, козодој, сив жерав and црвеноглав кожувар.
