A shallow bay that is a good stop over site for several species of shorebirds during migration.
The bay of Lillskärsudden is very shallow and when the water level is low, exposed sand banks are frequently used by many shorebirds such as Bar-tailed Godwit, голем српоклун свиркач, шумска тринга and среден пескар. The bay also attracts ducks, grebes and geese during the migration period. Raptors that follow the coastline during migration can also be seen here. The area also holds several breeding species like terns and gulls.
Lillskärsudden is located 25 km south of the city of Umeå. A car is needed to get there. From the parking lot, it is a short walk along the road. Click on the P in the map for directions to the parking.
