The Castril river canyon trail is a of exceptional beauty and with a chance to see some nice birds along the way.
The Castril river canyon is easy accessible from the town of Castril. The 2,2 km route goes down to the river from the town centre to the electric power station, carved into the rock of one of the slopes. The path consists of a footbridge over an old railway tucked into the rock wall. After the canyon you leave the river and walk between terraces and fields, where you can see different bird species. The last part of the route is the hardest, as it involves a gentle but continuous climb for about twenty minutes.
You can park in the town and start your walk from the parking place. The route is shown on the map below. For directions to the parking, click on the P in the map.
