Description

The Pandang (팔당) area is one of the best birdwatching points along the Han River. In winter, you can watch the Steller's Sea-Eagle and Scaly-sided Merganser. Other species you can observe include Whooper Swan, White-tailed Eagle, Japanese Wagtail, Eastern Buzzard, Tufted Duck, and Common Pochard.

Access

The Pandang area is located east of Seoul, near the town of Hanam. There are two main watching points in this area. One is from the north-east side of the river and the other is from the south-west. You can reach the north-east side from Paldang Station (1) and the south-west from Hanam Geomdansan Station (2), both by metro. If you want to move from one point to the other, it is best to go by car or taxi.
