The mouth of the Vale Vaqueiro stream is one of the richest areas in avifauna in the central Portugal area. 180 bird species have been recorded here. Among the birds you can encounter are потполошка, Red-legged Partridge, саријазма, пчеларка, кукумјавка, Iberian Grey Shrike, Iberian Chiffchaff, црн штрк, штрк, White-rumped Swift, орел рибар, грлица and Common Waxbill.
