Lake Kierskie is a lake of glacier origin with an area of about 300 hectare. It is located in Poznań and it is the largest water reservoir in the city.

Description

Lake Kierskie is especially interesting in the autumn and winter. Ducks, geese, grebes and loons etc. stop here regularly in pretty good amount. In winter, up to 3,000 gulls spend the night here - mainly: езерски галеб, Сребренест галеб, касписки галеб, обичен галеб and also a single: медитерански галеб, Голем морски галеб, мал црногрб галеб. Quite rare waterfowl for inland are regularly observed, such as: морски кожувар, белокрила црнка, Common Scoter, ушест нуркач, мал морски нуркач and белец. The lake is a feeding ground for белоопашест орел. Geese spend the night on the reservoir, mainly: дива гуска but also northern geese.

Access

Along the eastern shore there is an asphalt path and several piers from which you can observe birds. The west bank is partially built-up and inaccessible.
