Description
Located on the north end of the town of Goniądz, this small platform provides an excellent view of the Biebrza River and its extensive floodplain. On clear days from spring through early autumn, the platform is an excellent site for viewing raptors from late morning through mid-afternoon. The main target here is голем орел кликач , a rare nesting species at the westernmost edge of its range. With patience, they are regularly seen soaring overhead, and are more reliably encountered here than anywhwere else in the National Park. Other commonly-seen species here include мал орел кликач , белоопашест орел , ливадска еја, блатна еја, глувчар and Обична (Црнонокна) ветрушка. црн штрк and штрк are also often seen soaring on warm days, with the latter nesting abundantly throughout the town, including below the platform. Other common reed-associated species can be seen or heard, with a scope usually necessary to get good views given the distance. A narrow band of trees between the platform and the river can produce common woodland species.
