The Slangenburg estate is mainly forest with a few extensive grasslands. It is good forest for the common forest types birds such as Обичен (Шумски) лазач, краткопрст ползач, мала црноглава сипка, жолтоглаво кралче, црвеноглаво кралче, Голема сипка, сина сипка, обична ѕвингалка, дебелоклун црешар. There is a free car park near the castle. The car park itself is also a nice birding spot.
