Het Groene Strand (Green Beach) is an area that consists of an old beach, valleys, thickets and the Oostvoornse lake. The old beach is a dune area where the river Maas flowed into the sea. This part of the nature reserve is overgrown with reeds where many songbirds and birds of prey reside. Partly due to its location on the lake Oostvoornse Meer, many species of birds can be seen on and along the Groene Strand. Parking at Hotel Het Wapen van Marion in Oostvoorne. Down the stairs, follow the footpath and keep right at the fork. You will arrive at the observation point. In winter it can be quite wet, so boots or waterproof shoes are recommended.
