Variation of open water, surrounded by trees and shrubs, swamp and meadows. Rich in waterfowl and with сива чапја and голем корморан breeding colonies.
On this spot the brick factory in Udenhout has won clay for more than 100 years. 1 in 50 houses in the Netherlands was built with stones from Udenhout. A huge complex that is now given back to nature. The grasslands that surround the Leemputten are grazed. This creates gradual transitions from forest via thickets to grassland. They are ideal breeding grounds for birds. Amongst the birds you can see here are орел рибар, рибарче, саријазма, шумска шљука, many ducks and geese and sometimes rarities like жолтоного блатарче.
