Description

This large sodium lake is very good for spotting eastern birds. And also very good for breeding Dalmatian Pelican. Migrant waders such as Terek Sandpiper and Tibetan Sand Plover can also be found here. In some years, thousands of Rosy Starling also breed around the dam. But this only happens when it's a good year for crickets. The crickets live in the surrounding desert and the starlings feed on them. Other birds you can encounter here: Lesser Kestrel, Red-footed Falcon, White-headed Duck, Ruddy Shelduck, Red-crested Pochardand Common Pochard, Pallas's Gull and Caspian Gull, Black-winged Stilt, Water Rail, Collared Pratincole, Black-crowned Night Heron, Great Bittern, Little Bittern and Clamorous Reed Warbler.
