Description
The Le Braye Sandpits are made up of a large lake, a medium lake and a small reed fringed pond, although not viewable currently. The area holds the islands only breeding colony of брегова ластовичка and during winter holds good numbers of waterfowl.

Access
Le Braye Sandpits are located on the westcoast of Jersey, close to the airport. The hide is located along Chemin des Basses Mielles, 500m east from the junction with Grand Route des Mielles. Free Parking is avaliable in one of two gravel carparks located along the road, the nearest being 100m from the hide. Press P on the map for directions to the parking.
As the area is only viewable from the hide be sure to spend a good few minutes scanning the open water and shoreline for what you can see. A scope can be extremely helpful here.
