Mountain peat bog between Trentino and Lombardia
A recently established protected area at an altitude of 1800 m above the sea level with an amazing view on the surrounding Alps (provided that you can exclude the horrific buildings of Passo Tonale). There is an almost flat path along a mountain stream leading to a hut with some information about the area and the chance to complete a circular route (return on an unpaved road across the forest).
A good place for mountain passerines like Lesser Redpoll, Крстоклун and конопјарче, as well as forest species like цуцулеста сипка and обичен ползач. Other species include дрозд боровинкар, обично страче and планинска тресиопашка. Good numbers of migratory Sylvia warblers in autumn.
Parking in Passo Tonale, near the horrific towers (impossible to miss). Then the area is best explored on foot - the path along the stream may be muddy, so waterproof shoes are the safest choice. The circular trail includes some slope (on unpaved, wide road).
