A nice spot for seawatching in Arenzano, quite apart from the city so that you can enjoy the beauty of the Ligurian Sea and its seabirds.
The cape of Punta San Martino in Arenzano is a good hotspot for watching seabirds, especially Northern Gannet, which can be seen also quite close to the shore. They are present all year-round, but in summer only with immatures. Adults spend their winter here, but are more abundant during migrations, in November and March.
Also Мал завој and Голем завој (diomedea) are commonly seen foraging in the waters in front of the cape. The Razorbill can be seen in winter, especially in December. In March and April, this is also a good spot for watching migrants on the sea, especially in the first couple of hours after sunrise. Here, many dabbling ducks and herons can be seen in the morning. Finally, in winter тенкоклуна чигра is always present here, as well as the морски корморан in late summer and autumn.
You can get to Punta San Martino by walking from Arenzano, which can be reached by car, train or bus. Click on the P in the map for directions to a parking spot.
