Description
The raptor watchpoint near Kalloni provides a great view over the valley southwards that mainly raptors and storks tend to follow northwards during their spring migration. You need to have a bit of luck, but if you're there during a peak migration event, hundreds and hundreds of raptors and storks can be observed. Common species that can be seen are harriers, like ливадска еја and even степска еја, storks, like црн штрк and штрк, Лисест (Белоопашест) глувчар, Steppe Buzzard, орел змијар, осојад, краткопрст јастреб, јастреб кокошкар, сокол ластовичар, сина ветрушка, медитерански сокол, степска ветрушка and сив сокол. Scarcer species can sometimes be seen within flocks of other raptors, like мал орел кликач, планински орел, мал орел and царски орел.
The area surrounding the viewpoint is also good for typical inland species, like модар дрозд, шпанско камењарче and црвеногрла стрнарка.
