Description

Taubergießen is a floodplain wetland in the Upper Rhine region. It spans about 1,700 hectares, making it one of the largest protected areas in Baden-Württemberg. The wetland plays a crucial role in flood management and habitat conservation and is home to many birds.

In the alluvial forests breed грлица, саријазма and сокол ластовичар. Near the Altrhein you can spot речна чигра, голема бела чапја, and sometimes мала бела чапја, орел рибар and белоопашест орел. In addition, many resting migratory birds can be observed like патка свиркач, патка крецка, and црвеноврат нуркач.
