In Schellbruch reserve close to the city of Lübeck you find different types of habitats with a great variety of birds in a rather small area (although the complete reserve is not small at all. The reserve is managed by the NABU (German organisation for protecting nature) and a local organic farmer.
Good all year through but best in late spring. Fantastic place for Синогушка, штурче трскарче, мустаклеста сипка, белоопашест орел and Woodpeckers. In autumn also great flocks of geese in some years. мал пескар and калуѓерка occur as well as рибарче. Winter is good for големо страче, бел нуркач, голем северен нуркач and sometimes голем воден бик.
