Rückhaltebecken Stöhna is a wetland complex with reed beds, shallow water zones, islands, mudflats, willow bushes and grassland, as well as adjacent agricultural open land. Among the birds you can observe are depending on the season патка крецка, патка лажичарка, патка превез, бел нуркач, саријазма, обично страче, блатна еја, белоопашест орел, обичен трскар, мустаклеста сипка, Мочварна овесарка, барска кокошка, жолтогрла стрнарка, славејче, Синогушка and штурче трскарче.

Note that the Rückhaltebecken Stöhna isn't easily accessible for birdwatching. There are only a few good spots to watch from. And a telescope is really helpfull here.
