A 370 ha protected area along the river Ahse consisting of wet meadows, reedbeds and hedgerows.
The area is of great importance for breeding birds of semi-natural grasslands and wetlands. Around 80 species of breeding birds are recorded annually, including голем српоклун свиркач, калуѓерка, штрк , мал нуркач, барска кокошка, потполошка, патка крецка, патка берија, патка лажичарка, сива патка, сокол ластовичар, кукавица, Синогушка, планинско ливадарче, трскар рогозар (rarely мал трскар and обичен трскар) and обично страче. Large flocks of белочелна гуска use the area during winter, and also a small group of мала белочелна гуска from a rewilding project in Sweden has established a "tradition" to visit the area for wintering, starting in 2017. In late winter, the area serves as roosting place for hundreds of сив жерав and during spring migration, a great variety of ducks and waders can be encountered. Occasionally, rarities show up (e.g. црвена чапја, црн кожувар, сива барска кокошка).
There is a car park in Heintrop, next to the sports field. From there, you can explore the area by foot or bike.
