Description
Tbilisi Reservoir is divided in two parts. A smaller eastern part and a larger western part. In the western part you can observe different ducks (Дива патка, сива патка, бел нуркач), gulls (мал црногрб галеб, голем црноглав галеб, обичен галеб, мал галеб) and terns (тенкоклуна чигра, речна чигра, белокрила рибарка). In the eastern part near the strait wintering swans (мал лебед, жолтоклун лебед) and even loons (белец, мал морски нуркач) can be encountered.
The shores of the eastern part are muddy and flat, so it is a good place for waders (црвенонога тринга, шумска тринга, остригар, бојник, обична бекасина). In the reedbeds you can find almost all species of herons, that live in Georgia (сива чапја, голема бела чапја, жолта чапја, Мал воден бик).
Open spaces, covered with grass on the shores of the reservoir attract larks, shrikes, pipits and birds of prey (including сив сокол, мал сокол, сина ветрушка, степска ветрушка, степска еја, степски орел, орел рибар).
In the coastal forests live woodpeckers (сириски клукајдрвец, мал клукајдрвец, вртивратка, црн клукајдрвец), tits, finches (зимовка, обична ѕвингалка) and even Крстоклун.
