A bay closed by a long dune, the 'Small sea of Gâvres' is a great place for the observation of waders.
Petite Mer de Gâvres is a shallow bay where large mudflats come to the surface at low tide. Many waders stop in the area to find their food. Also sometimes rare vagrants like Baird's Sandpiper, White-rumped Sandpiper, Greater Sand Plover, Pacific Golden Plover and American Golden Plover.

By car, the road to Kesrsahu passes over the dune separating the Petite Mer de Gâvres from the ocean. There are parking lots along this road. Click on a P in the map for directions.
