Description
Lac de Madine is a large lake located between Metz and Nancy. The lake attracts many waterfowl and all kinds of herons. There are interesting information boards in various places with information about the birds that occur there and there is a bird hide. From the bird hide turn left again along the cycling/walking path, you will pass a few small ponds full of сива чапја, мала бела чапја, голема бела чапја, црвена чапја and if you're lucky a голем воден бик.

Access
The bird watching area is located on the west side of the lake and is marked 'Point d'observatoire d'oiseaux Lac de Madine'. Click on the p in the map for directions. From the parking lot you have to walk or cycle the last bit. There is also a motorhome parking nearby and there are hiking trails. The other side of the lake is a busy recreational area and less interesting for birdwatching.
