Description
Suomenoja's (or Finno) bird pools were created as a result of human activity in the former Finnoonlahti Bay. The pools provide nesting environment for many bird species – including some rarities within Finland and the EU. The symbol of the area is the езерски галеб. The area hosts the largest gull community in Southern Finland (estimated at 3,700 pairs) and the second largest in Finland. Access
There is a parking lot at the bird pools. Click on the P in the map to get directions. From the parking you can make a circular walk around the wetland (1,6 km) On the way you will pass two bird towers.
