Description

The Jardín Botánico de Quito is a botanical garden located in the heart of Quito and covering approximately 18 hectares. The garden showcases different ecosystems, including cloud forests, páramo landscapes, and xerophytic zones. Together with the surrounding Parque La Carolina this attracts many birds and gives a great opportunity to watch birds in the city of Quito. You can observe several species of hummingbirds and warblers and birds like Scrub Tanager, Golden Grosbeak, Hooded Siskin, Great Thrush, Purple Gallinule, Southern Beardless-Tyrannulet, Golden-rumped Euphonia, Masked Flowerpiercer and Black Flowerpiercer.

Jardin Botánico de Quito and Parque La Carolina are located in the heart of Quito. Public Transport: Several bus routes pass near the garden, including C1, C2, E2, and Metro Line 1. Metro station Carolina is marked 1 on the map. By car: there many car parks in Parque La Carolina. Press a P on the map for directions.

Opening hours Jardin Botánico de Quito: Monday to Friday 10:00 AM to 3:30 PM. Weekends and holidays 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Entry fee $ 4 (2025). Most of the trails are wheelchair accessible.
