Description
Kotvice Nature Reserve lies on the right bank of the Oder river in the Poodří Protected Landscape Area. The reserve includes the two ponds Nový Rybník and Kotvice with nesting islands and littorial vegetation, floodplain forests and oak-hornbeam forests with a higher proportion of dead wood, and flooded meadows with wetlands and pools. The immediately adjacent fish pond of Kačák is not part of the reserve. The Kotvice nature trail leads through the place and there is an observation point for birds at the Kotvice pond. Among the birds you can encounter are голем северен нуркач, калуѓерка, езерски галеб, орел рибар, белоопашест орел, блатна еја, рибарче, обичен трскар, славејче, беловрато муварче, сивоглав клукајдрвец, саријазма and црноврат нуркач.

Access
Kotvice nature reserve is located between the villages of Nová Horka and Albrechtičky and southeast of the village of Studénka. Easy accessible by train. The nature reserve is an 800 m walk from the train station of Studénka. If you arrive by car you can park next to the train station. Click on the P in the map for directions.
