Description

Boca Tapada de San Carlos is a popular spot for birders in Costa Rica with a unique variety of tropical forests, rivers, lagoons and wetlands. Hundreds of ornithologists come every year to photograph birds such as Scarlet Macaw, King Vulture, Keel-billed Toucan, Collared Aracari and Red-headed Manakin. Boca Tapada Lodge consists of 273 hectares of land divided in two. 3 hectares where the Bungalows are located and 270 hectares 2 km north, reforestation farm and forest management plan. From the viewing platform you can wonderfully observe and photograph the diversity of the bird world.

Access

Boca Tapada de San Carlos is in the north of Costa Rica, about 130 km north of the capital of San José. Click on the P in the map for directions or coordinates. Getting to the lodge by car takes time and the road is sometimes very bad.
