In spring and fall, you can spot thousands of waterfowl, including Tundra Swan, Northern Pintail, and Green-winged Teal. Summer brings marsh birds like Black Tern and Least Bittern, while winter offers sightings of Bald Eagle and Northern Harrier.

Access

Crown Marsh is located at Long Point, Ontario, along the north shore of Lake Erie. To reach the area, take Highway 24 south from Simcoe, and follow signs to Long Point Provincial Park, where the marsh is situated. Parking is available at the Long Point Provincial Park Visitor Centre and nearby areas. Press P on the map for directions to a parking. Public transportation options to the park are limited, so it’s best to drive.

Exploring the marsh is best done on foot, as there are well-maintained trails that take you through the diverse habitats. For a more extensive visit, cycling is also a good option. Depending on your pace and interest in birdwatching, you should allow at least 2-4 hours for your visit to fully experience the area.
