The landscape around Ivaylovgrad Reservoir has a mosaic of habitats consisting of bushes, trees and grassy vegetation on the bank of this large fresh-water body with shallow water along the banks. An interesting combination of dry habitats and a wetland. In spring and summer the site can produce good views of дамчесто грмушарче and источно-медитеранско грмушарче. During the migration periods (March-May and July-October) патка крецка, Црвенонога сабјарка, сабјарка, шарена тринга and other birds can be observed. In winter time црвеноклун лебед, гусковидна патка, голем северен нуркач and other waterfowl is possible.
Other birds that can been observed include жолта чапја, белоглав мршојадец, црна луња, белоопашест орел, кукумјавка, Пупунец, пчеларка, мал клукајдрвец, саријазма, обично страче, црвеноглаво страче, шумска чучулига, маслинар, Пештерска (Црвенкаста) ластовица, славејче, Black-headed wagtail, црноглава стрнарка and голема стрнарка.

Access
Ivaylovgrad Reservoir is located near the village of Borislavtsi. The area is easy accessable, it is possible to stop near the road (road is far from busy), near a water spring. Press P on the map for directions. Very scarce public transport (once-twice a day). Easy to walk and explore quite a large area around. It is safe to leave the car near the road. In general you can see most of the birds in the area in one to one and a half hours.
