Description
Paardeweide is a wetland that is flooded about once a year. You will find open water, reeds, and a mix of grasslands. The fairly large lake has lots of ducks, geese, gulls, waders and now and then голем воден бик. You can make a nice walk (1 hour) around the lake. The place is quiet and lies next to the river Schelde in an open area where it is nice to walk and/or cycle. The area attracts herons, waders and other water birds. Breeding birds are сабјарка and речна чигра. Furthermore you can often see чапја лажичарка. From the dyke, the following rarities can be observed periodically: голем воден бик, дамчеста барска кокошка, сива барска кокошка, сина ветрушка and црвена чапја.
