Description
The area of Oude Leie Gottem and the Perenboomplas consists of an old Leie meander where свиларче breeds in the reed collar of this meander. In the winter period you can also sometimes find голем северен нуркач and цуцулест кожувар. Adjacent to the meander there is a newly excavated large pond where various wading birds forage such as речна тринга, калуѓерка and шарена тринга. During the spring and autumn migration you have a chance of just about anything that stops in the area for a while. Think of бојник, црна тринга, Црвенонога сабјарка. The reed zone bordering the meadow is a breeding ground for блатна еја.

Nederlands: Het gebied van Oude Leie Gottem en de Perenboomplas bestaat uit een oude Leie-meander waar свиларче broedt in de rietkraag van deze meander. In de winterperiode kan je hier ook wel eens голем северен нуркач aantreffen en цуцулест кожувар. Aangrenzend aan de meander is er een nieuw uitgegraven grote poel waar diverse steltlopers foerageren zoals речна тринга, калуѓерка en шарена тринга als bijna een constante maar tijdens de voor- en najaarstrek heb je kans op ongeveer alles dat er eventjest stopt. Denk aan бојник, црна тринга, Црвенонога сабјарка. De rietzone grenzend aan het weiland is dan weer een broedplaats voor блатна еја.

Oude Leie Gottem and the Perenboomplas are located near the village of Gottem, 20 km southwest of Ghent. You can access the are via the towpath (jaagpad).
