Description
Even the industrial/urban area in the north of this region harbours quite some good species in winter, like патка свиркач, сива патка, цуцулест кожувар and црвеноглав кожувар. They can be common near te sewage works, as do gulls мал нуркач and дива гуска.
In recent years голем воден бик has become almost annual (often more then one) and some years мустаклеста сипка turns up. There's a big breeding population of трскар рогозар (>20 pairs) as do свиларче and Мочварна овесарка in small numbers. In some years even Синогушка breeds here.
The meadow areas further to the south, especially those along the railway hold most of the time waders in late winter and spring. црноопашна блатарка, шумска тринга, шарена тринга, бојник, мал пескар (breeds some years), обичен свиркач, обична бекасина, мала бекасина and others are seen annual. In winter this area often holds карпеста трепетилка. In wet years species as патка крецка and патка лажичарка can be breeding here. Irregular breeders are Мочварна овесарка, свиларче and планинско ливадарче.
The area more to the south can hold рибарче, планинска тресиопашка, планинско ливадарче and the same species mentioned earlier, but chances on these are more remote.
