Description
The Dragositschacher Bucht is a beautiful area next to the Drau river, consisting of a wide variety of habitats. The main area consists of several ponds and reedbeds. On the southern edge, the area is bordered by a small forested area, and on the northern side, the Drau river is located. The area is great for observing waterbirds, which winter here in large numbers. Species like црвеноглав кожувар, цуцулест кожувар, црна лиска and црвеноклун лебед can be seen in large numbers. Rarer species, like бел нуркач, голем северен нуркач and четириока патка, can mainly be observed in winter here. On several spots, groups of жолтоног галеб, голем корморан and езерски галеб rest on the shorelines.
During the breeding season, the reedbeds are great for many species of songbird, like Мочварна овесарка, блатен трскар, трскар рогозар and обичен трскар. Also larger species, like барска кокошка and мал нуркач, breed here. The open shorelines with pebbles are great for мал пескар.
Just after the breeding season, large flocks of сипка торбарка tend to be seen here. They forage in the lower levels of the reedbeds, and sometimes popup to give a show.

Access
The area is easy accessible from two sides: on the western side you can observe the area from a path, and a birding hide is present. On the eastern side, the area is accessible by walking around on sanded paths. At the parking spot, you need to enter an extraction area which doesn't look accessible, but eventually you'll find a path that leads you to the main reedbed area. Just follow the path on the map.
