Ken Malloy Harbor Regional Park is a freshwater lake with a tule marsh and willow riparian forest and a good diversity of birds.

Descrizione

This lake and surrounding park offers freshwater, riparian and wetland habitats, along with lawns and fields, picnic areas and a walking path. It's a great place for viewing ducks, gulls, raptors and a wide variety of passerines, with close to 300 species reported here on eBird. The park is popular with joggers, picnickers and families.

Bird highlights include nesting habitat for Least Bittern, and a variety of migrants in Spring and Fall. Birders come here for species such as Yellow Warbler, Bell's Vireo (Least), and Green Heron, and others.

Great Blue Heron, Snowy Egret, Great Egret, Common Yellowthroat, Yellow Warbler, Marsh Wren, Cassin's Kingbird, Caspian Tern, Northern Shoveler, Pied-billed Grebe, American Kestrel, Tree Swallow, Hooded Oriole, Red-winged Blackbird, American White Pelican, Belted Kingfisher, Red-tailed Hawk, and Downy Woodpecker are among the many species to be found at Ken Malloy Harbor Regional Park.

Rarities that have been found here over the years include: Canada Warbler, Bay-breasted Warbler, Black-and-white Warbler, Lucy's Warbler, Ovenbird, Blue-headed Vireo, Chimney Swift, Yellow-throated Vireo, Scarlet Tanager, Rusty Blackbird, Wood Thrush, Broad-winged Hawk, Ruff, Sabine's Gull, Eurasian Blue Tit, Sulphur-bellied Flycatcher, Wood Stork, Franklin's Gull, and Yellow-bellied Sapsucker.
