Descrizione
Located in the heart of the Somerset Levels and Moors, Greylake is a flat wetland with good paths and reedbed. Thanks to all the water, you can see Pavoncella, Pettegola and Beccaccino nesting in the spring. Smaller birds such as Forapaglie comune, Cutrettola and Migliarino di palude can be heard and seen singing from the trails.
Over winter, vast flocks of ducks and waders, being hunted by birds of prey. Pavoncella and Piviere dorato are sometimes joined by Piovanello pancianera, Combattente and Pittima reale. Large flocks of Fischione, Alzavola and smaller groups of Mestolone, Canapiglia and Codone feed in front of the hides. Falco pellegrino and Falco di palude are seen regularly and Smeriglio and Albanella reale occasionally.
