Descrizione

During autumn bird migration many bird visit or cross the area. Raptors and other soaring birds use the coastal mountain range to move south. Various species of herons and other waterfowl are attracted by the water of the river and the nearby coastal salt marshes. Like Cicogna nera, Sgarza ciuffetto, Nitticora and Pavoncella armata In the early morning reedbeds and big trees can be full of birds. Big trees often contain resting raptors, such as Aquila anatraia maggiore or Aquila anatraia minore. Most raptors pas overhead, sometimes at considerable hight, but a drive into the mountains can bring you closer. We spent most of our time checking bushes and marshes around the river mouth and saw many passing raptors like Aquila minore, Albanella pallida, Poiana codabianca and Biancone anyway.
