Skillingaryds Dämme was built as a water treatment plant. Measures taken in recent years have resulted in a new wetland and wet meadows. The new environment with shallow ponds and bushes attracts birds like Porciglione, Gallinella d'acqua, Ballerina bianca, Corriere piccolo, Topino, Martin pescatore, Piro piro piccolo and Quattrocchi.
