The Långfjället Nature Reserve is one of Sweden’s largest. The highest peak is Storvätteshogna, at 1204 m. It has areas of pure primeval forest without traces of forestry. On the moutain plateau it is lovely walking with plenty of birds on top and in dales. Lots of Pernice bianca, Pispola, Piviere dorato and Culbianco. You also find Ghiandaia siberiana (in the coniferous forest) and Pantana (around small bog areas in the forest). And along the streams and rivers the Merlo acquaiolo is a common sight. In the lakes and streams you can find ducks like Alzavola, Quattrocchi and Strolaga mezzana.You can also encounter moose, foxes, martens and brown bears.
