Descrizione
Brannäs Våtmark is an area that contains several different ponds with varying amounts of vegetation enclosed by varying forest biotopes. In winter, there are still quite a few birds to see in the parts that don't freeze over. Beccaccino, Scricciolo, Pettirosso and Porciglione are virtually there all year round. In the forest areas there are Picchio rosso minore and Civetta nana and the other common woodpecker species. In the spring, birds that nest in the ponds arrive: Germano reale, Cigno reale, Alzavola, Canapiglia and Porciglione and in the reeds Cannaiola, Migliarino di palude and Forapaglie comune. During the autumn, flocks of ducks rest in the area.
Observations of the following rarities have been made over the years: Falco cuculo, Ballerina gialla, Balia dal collare, Pendolino, Tortora americana, Salciaiola and Airone bianco maggiore.
