Barkerydssjön is a small lake and protected wetland that is rich in birds. From a bird observation tower you can overlook the area. Around the lake, in the wet grasslands, meadows, reed beds, and in the surrounding forest you will find birds like Falco di palude, Lodolaio and Cigno selvatico. You can also find different kinds of geese, ducks and meadow birds like Chiurlo maggiore and Pavoncella. Also Gru and Tottavilla. In the forest there are Cincia dal ciuffo, Cincia bigia, Codibugnolo, among others.

Barkerydssjön is located in between the town of Nässjö and the city of Jönköping, 2 km north of the village of Bästhult. Press P on the map for directions to the parking lot. From the parking it's a short walk to the birdwatching tower. You can also take a walk around the area. By Bus: Take Line 119 from Nässjö Central station to Bästhult. From there it is a 2 km walk to Barkerydssjön.
