Pozo Tremeo is one of those visits that is worth doing if you are a nature lover. Being the only natural lagoon on the Cantabrian coast, it has a special charm. It is a circular well, surrounded by reeds and sheltered by a small wood. The lagoon is visited by birds such as Canapiglia or Airone cenerino and others such as Folaga, Cannaiola or Gallinella d'acqua inhabit its reeds. If you enter the forest path, you may find birds such as Scricciolo, Picchio rosso maggiore or Rampichino alpestre. The whole area is surrounded by meadows that are inhabited by birds like Cinciallegra or Fanello and watched by birds of prey like Nibbio bruno or Gheppio.

Espagnol: El Pozo Tremeo es la única laguna natural de la costa de Cantabria. Este singular emplazamiento se encuentra rodeado por un pequeño bosque y una pradera. El Pozo Tremeo es una de esas visitas que merece la pena hacer si eres un amante de la naturaleza. Siendo la única laguna natural de la costa de Cantabria, tiene un encanto especial. Se trata de un pozo exactamente circular, rodeado por carrizos y abrigado por un bosquecillo. La laguna es visitada por aves como Canapiglia o Airone cenerino y en sus carrizos habitan otras como Folaga, Cannaiola o Gallinella d'acqua. Si se entra en el paseo del bosque, podrán encontrarse aves como Scricciolo, Picchio rosso maggiore o Rampichino alpestre. Toda la zona se encuentra rodeada por praderas que están habitadas por pájaros como Cinciallegra o Fanello y oteadas por rapaces como Nibbio bruno o Gheppio.

It is possible to get to the lagoon by road and there is a space where you can park, although, if there are many people, it might be better to leave the car in the village of Polanco. The lagoon has a platform that can be accessed on foot by everyone. However, the route through the forest can be difficult for people with reduced mobility. The circular route indicated on the map is about 2 km.
