My name is Harold Wijts and I am a bird guide in the Ebro Delta, a true bird paradise. Every season there is something to experience. In spring, from March onwards, the migratory birds that come from Africa and spend a few days foraging in the Ebro Delta and then move on to northern Europe, such as spotted crake, whinchat, garganey, all species of swallow, flycatcher. From April, many species of breeding birds return such as purple heron, collared pratincole, little bittern, night heron, squacco heron, many species of terns, golden oriole, bee-eaters, roller, nightjars, short-toed eagle, warblers, stilts. In autumn, migration is reversed from north to south including dotterel and many waders. In winter, there are many winter visitors, such as divers, black-necked grebe, stork, stonechat, scoters, booted eagle, osprey and many species of waders.

Of course also the species that are there all year round such as moustached warbler, audouin's gull, slender-billed gull, egrets, penduline tit, cetti warbler, flamingo, short-toed lark, crested lark, red crested pochard, Kentish plover. The Ebro Delta is a bird paradise with a size of 320 km², created by deposits of the river Ebro.

I'm an experienced bird guide with over 15 years of experience in the Ebro Delta. Prices per half-day session (4-5 hours) € 75.00 for max. 3 persons. + km allowance of € 0.25. For reservations call/app Harold Wijts on 0034-652910296. On a beautiful day you can see as many as 70-80 species of birds. The excursion can be done in English, German or Dutch.
