Cabo Peñas is a beautiful and accessible place with steep cliffs and beautiful views. A path takes you to the Peñas lighthouse (with a small museum), the northernmost point of Asturias. Wonderful to wander around here. Due to the presence of threatened nesting seabirds such as Uccello delle tempeste or Marangone dal ciuffo, and to ensure the long-term protection and management of bird species and their habitats, since 2003 it has been partially included in the European list of Special Protection Areas for Birds. It is also a place where you can spot dolphins all year round!

You can access the cape from Avilés by the AS-238 Regional to Luanco. From Gijón by the Regional AS-19, to El Otero, and then by the Regional AS-239 to Luanco. You can choose to approach the Cabo on foot thanks to The Senda del Cabo Peñas (PR-AS-25), well signposted, that runs through this coastal area, very close to the edge of the sea.
