Raureni Dam is a large dam reservoir of the river Olt in the city of Râmnicu Vâlcea. The lake has an unpaved circular path of 10 km for running, hiking, cycling or simply walking for a couple of hours. The place is never crowded and you can see a variety of water birds. There is also a small forest nearby for even more variety. Among the birds you can encounter are Pellicano comune, Marangone minore, Pollo sultano testagrigia, Volpoca, Alzavola, Averla piccola, Martin pescatore, Airone bianco maggiore and Garzetta.

There is an unpaved circular path of about 10 km that runs around the reservoir. The city of Râmnicu Vâlcea has a parking system and you will find parking nearby. From the parking you will have to walk for 5-10 minutes. Another option is to park your car along one of the dirt roads closer to the reservoir.
