Descrizione
The Romeiras area is a regular site for the presence of iconic large birds of prey, such as Aquila imperiale iberica, Aquila reale, and Aquila di Bonelli, as well as Grifone and Avvoltoio monaco. It is also common to observe some species typically associated with steppe areas, like Gallina prataiola, Ganga, Grillaio, Ghiandaia marina, and also Monachella and Cappellaccia di Thekla. With a constant water presence, it regularly attracts various species of waterfowl, as well as species like Pernice di mare and Sterna zampenere during the breeding season.

The Romeiras site is located near the villages of Alvares, Penilhos and Romeiras. You can reach the area either via the municipal road CM1145, which leads to Alvares, or the municipal road EM509, which provides access to Penilhos and Romeiras. The circular route indicated on the map is about 15 km.
