Kąty Rybackie Nature Reserve was created in 1957. The largest cormorant reserve in Poland and one of the largest in Europe - an area of over 100 hectares. The place is located in a hilly area, covered mainly with pine forest. There is a huge colony of Cormorano, as well as Airone cenerino and Airone bianco maggiore. The reserve area is also a unique sight of the destruction caused by the excrement of these birds in the forest. Burnt trees, sticking stumps that give the impression of a natural cataclysm.

Polski: Rezerwat utworzony w roku 1957. Największy rezerwat Kormoranów w Polsce i jeden z największych w Europie - powierzchnia ponad 100 hektarów. Miejsce położone jest w lesie, teren pagórkowaty, porośnięty lasem głównie sosnowym. Na miejscu znajduje się ogromna kolonia kormoranów, a także czapli siwej i białej. Teren rezerwatu, to także niepowtarzalny widok zniszczeń jakich w lesie dokonały odchody tych ptaków -wypalone drzewa, sterczące kikuty, które sprawiają wrażenie przyrodniczego kataklizmu.

You can get to Kąty Rybackie Nature Reserve via Morska Street from Sztutowo - the parking lot is marked with the letter P on the map. From there, follow the forest road towards Kąty Rybackie - east. There are also other paths leading to the reserve. There are information boards and maps in the field. The reserve is hard to miss, for obvious reasons. The best period for observation is May, when there are already very young cormorants in their nests. I suggest not entering the open area - you may be "bombarded" with feces.

Polski: Dojechać na miejsce można ulicą Morska ze Sztutowa - arking na mapie oznaczony literą P. Stamtąd należy kierować się leśną drogą w kierunku Kątów Rybackich - na wschód. Są także inne ścieżki wiodące do rezerwatu. W terenie tablice informacyjne i mapy. Rezerwat trudno przeoczyć, z oczywistych powodów. Najlepszy okres do obserwacji to maj, gdy w gniazdach są już młodziutkie kormorany. Sugeruję nie wchodzić na otwarty teren - można być "zbombardowanym" odchodami.
