The Kalina Pond was created due to the depression of the area caused by mining works. In the second half of the 20th century, it was very polluted. In recent years, effective revitalization has been carried out, and the area around the pond has become a recreational area. At least 50 species of birds have been observed here, the most important of which is the breeding Parrocchetto dal collare a species that is invasive in Poland.
