You can explore the entire Veines peninsula and also the platform over the sea where several bird species can be observed, including Uria nera, Cormorano, Marangone dal ciuffo, Sterna comune, Sterna codalunga and gulls. Some shore birds as Corriere grosso or Piovanello violetto can be observed all summer, and Beccaccia di mare may nest on the beach during summer there. Inland you can spot Piviere dorato, Combattente, Gufo di palude, Aquila di mare and Poiana calzata.
Water birds as Edredone and Smergo minore and also a diversity of small birds as Pettazzurro, Zigolo delle nevi, Verdone, Cincia alpestre, Organetto and Ballerina bianca contribute to the very interesting diversity. In fact all parts of the peninsula are good for birding.

By the main road you acces Veines and you park the car at the begining of the walking trail. Click on the P in the map for directions. You can walk all over the peninsula on the left when you start walking. At some point of the walk up in the mountain you will find an observatory. It is also possible from the end of the peninsula (lighthouse) to spot whales during migration.
