This natural, wild site on the Wadden Sea near the quiet village of Wierum is a nice place to watch birds. Many wading birds can be found here, such as Volpoca, Chiurlo maggiore, Beccaccia di mare and Pettegola. Also in spring and autumn many migratory birds can be seen, such as Zigolo delle nevi, Fanello nordico and Zigolo della Lapponia. The village of Wierum has beautiful streets and there are also nice birds to see.

Nederlands: Deze rustige, wilde plaats bij het rustige dorp Wierum is een leuke plek om vogels te kijken. Veel wadvogels zijn hier te vinden, zoals Volpoca Chiurlo maggiore Beccaccia di mare en Pettegola. Ook in het voor- en najaar zijn er veel trekvogels te zien, zoals Zigolo delle nevi, Fanello nordico en Zigolo della Lapponia. In het dorpje Wierum zijn mooie straatjes en ook weer leuke vogels te zien.

The village of Wierum is located on the Wadden Sea, approximately 12 km north of the town of Dokkum. Parking is available in Wierum. Press P on the map for directions to a parking space. The walking route along the Wadden Sea shown on the map is approximately 2 km, so a total of 4 km there and back.
