The Waalbos is a 200 hectare nature and recreational area. It is a varied area with areas of forest with shrubbery, water features with reed banks and open meadows. With the pruned willow branches a birdwatching screen has been made where with some luck a Martin pescatore can be seen. It is a beautiful walking area with all kinds of birds such as Gheppio, Poiana, Saltimpalo, Cuculo, Forapaglie comune, Cannaiola verdognola, Sterpazzola, Pavoncella, Beccaccia di mare, Pettegola and all kinds of ducks.

Nederlands: Het Waalbos is een natuur- en recreatiegebied van 200 hectare groot. Het is een afwisselend gebied met stukken bos met struweel, waterpartijen met rietoevers en open weidegebied. Met de gesnoeide wilgentakken is een vogelkijkscherm gemaakt waar met enig geluk een Martin pescatore gezien kan worden. Het is een mooi wandelgebied met allerlei vogels zoals Gheppio, Poiana, Saltimpalo, Cuculo, Forapaglie comune, Cannaiola verdognola, Sterpazzola, Pavoncella, Beccaccia di mare, Pettegola en allerlei eenden.

There are several parking spaces in the area. Click on a P in the map for directions to that parking lot. A number of hiking and cycling trails crisscross the area. On the map you see a circular walk of 4.5 km. Next to the mill 'de Kersenboom' you will find the visitor center 'de IJsvogel'.

Nederlands: Er zijn verschillende parkeerplaatsen in het gebied. Klik op een P in de kaart voor een routebeschrijving naar die parkeerplaats. Een aantal wandel- en fietspaden doorkruisen het gebied. Op de kaart zie je een rondwandeling van 4,5 km. Naast de molen ’de Kersenboom’ vind je bezoekerscentrum de IJsvogel.
