Descrizione

The elongated Roukespeelven near Swartbroek is part of a stream valley overgrown with forests and marshes with very slow drainage over ground level. It is located next to the Krang, an estate consisting of fields, coppice plots, forest, ponds, marsh and fens. The Roukespeelven has with a bird viewing screen where Tuffetto and Alzavola can often be seen.

Nederlands: Het kleine natuurgebied Roukespeel in de Krang bij Swartbroek is een zogenaamd doorstroommoeras: een met bos en moeras dichtgegroeid beekdal met een zeer trage afwatering over maaiveld. De Krang is een landgoed dat bestaat uit akkers, hakhoutpercelen, bos, poelen, moeras en vennen. Het Roukespeelven is wat rest van het voormalige moerasgebied. Er staat een vogelkijkscherm waar vaak Tuffetto en Alzavola te zien zijn.

Accesso

The Roukespeelven is located directly west of the village of Swartbroek. Parking is available at the church in Swartbroek. Click on the P on the map for directions to the parking lot. From the parking lot it is about a 1 km walk to the bird watching screen. The Roukespeelven is also part of the 11.5 km loop-shaped walking route 'De Krang' (see the link below). This circular walk starts at the same parking lot and passes the bird viewing screen at the Roukespeelven.

Nederlands: Het Roukespeelven ligt direct ten westen van het dorpje Swartbroek. Parkeren kan bij de kerk in Swartbroek. Klik op de P in de kaart voor een routebeschrijving naar de parkeerplaats. Vanaf de parkeerplaats is het ongeveer 1 km lopen naar het vogelkijkscherm. Het Roukespeelven is ook onderdeel van de 11,5 km lusvormige wandelroute 'De Krang' van Natuurmonumenten (zie de link beneden). Deze rondwandeling start op dezelfde parkeerplaats en voert langs het vogelkijkscherm bij het Roukespeelven.

Quote from a birder that stayed recently in Vosseven Nature Park “We visited many of the bird areas in the Kempen-Broek that are described on Birdingplaces. Most of them we could easily reach on foot or by bike from Vosseven Nature Park, it's all quite close. Beautiful sites like Wijffelterbroek, Smeetshof, Kettingdijk, Tungelerwallen, Laurabossen and the outstanding De Luysen - Mariahof. We saw many special birds such as Golden Oriole, Great Bittern, Little Bittern, Kingfisher, Hobby, European Turtle Dove, Spoonbill and Red-backed Shrike and lots of other bird species.”
